All standard door hardware (ring latches hinges) are heavy duty. The result is extreme sturdiness and beauty.
We structurally engineer our sheds to exceed most snow, wind load requirements.

Not included in shed kits:

4” x 8” x 16” solid concrete blocks upon which the floor joists will be positioned. Most home centers carry these. Roof shingles. Nails and screws (the DVD instructions will provide more data on this).

Important: You must be sure to observe all safety precautions as appropriate to any assembly project where wood and tools are used. Also, wear the appropriate eye protection, ear protection and any other items that provide you with required safety when you work on this kit. If you are unsure of what safety precautions to take, contact your local building inspector’s office before you start to comply with permits, codes or other requirements.

Shipping DIY Barn Kits

We currently deliver in our own truck in the local Connecticut area Call us for more details.

Outside this area we ship via experienced carrier company.

Better Barns ships door-to-door to most locations within the contiguous states. We need to know about any special circumstances that might exist with your delivery so that we can review all the details concerning delivery. What do we mean by special circumstances? Within our local delivery radius, we deliver with our own truck and trailer. Outside that area your kit will arrive by tractor-trailer. The kit is securely palletized and ready for off-loading with a pallet jack or lift truck. Otherwise the kit can be off-loaded piece by piece. It is important to understand that the truck driver may decide to provide assistance in off-loading but is under no obligation to do that. There are insurance issues and regulations that may apply.

With that in mind be certain to have people available to help you off-load. You can also check your phone directory for temporary or day-worker employment agencies who can provide people to unload for you. Be sure to observe all safety regulations when unloading and/or lifting. We are not responsible for any damage once you begin off-loading the kit. Remote locations and/or restricted locations may also affect delivery fees. Where there is limited entry due to obstacles or unusually narrow driveways, legal passage restrictions, poor road conditions, etc., a transfer to a smaller vehicle is likely necessary. If your home or facility is far from normal areas of population centers, or if the driver must wait an excessive period of time, additional fees may apply. Again, be extremely careful when lifting or moving materials; observe all safety regulations appropriate to your area and always use your common sense to have a great experience in the process.
